The San Diego Startup Week is being held from June 13 – 17 and Mark Suster is the keynote speaker.  Mark is considered one of the top investors in Southern California and is currently a partner at Upfront Ventures.  Upfront invests in technology companies that can potentially disrupt existing concepts and become new market leaders.  Recent exits include TrueCar, Gravity, Burstly and Envestnet.

One of the interesting aspects of the conference is that it offers 10 different tracks to help participants sign-up easier.  For instance, there is the Idea Track for early stage entrepreneurs and anyone else with an idea for starting a business.  Here you can learn how to validate and idea, establish connections and get the basics to startup a new business.

Some of the other tracks include a Seed Track for startups searching for product-market fit and solidifying their business model, and a Growth Track for startups ready to scale their business.  These tracks are backed by special events and presentations.  For instance, the Seed Track has as session on Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and how to grow a team beyond the founders.  Reghu Rajan is the team captain for the Seed Track.

There are also special sessions for particular industries and applications, like How to Start a Biotech Company and learning about 3D Printing.  Brant Cooper, of Moves the Needles, is hosting a session titled “Startup in San Diego: A Guide to the Community.”  There is also a program on San Diego Startup Accelerators that is being hosted by the Startup Leadership Program.  The panel will be moderated by Mahtab Beheshti, Fabrice Gould, Felena Hanson and Remy Meraz.

San Diego Startup Week will be held at various venues throughout downtown San Diego.  Visit sandiegostartupweek.com for more information and full schedule information.
