Uniz Technology, headquartered in San Diego, California is developing a 3D printer that is designed to offer the same precision and speed as its industrial counterparts.  The SLASH 3D printer uses liquid crystal display (LCD) contact exposure to improve cooling at the interface and offers significantly faster speeds than a traditional 3D desktop printer.  Uniz is also ensuring that the SLASH printer is as reliable as the competing professional tools by using high quality parts that will last for a long time.

SLASH 3D Printer

In order to get financing to develop its printer, Uniz ran a Kickstarter campaign that raised $571,926 from more than 500 backers.  The SLASH 3D printer project was launched on March 29, 2016 and achieved its initial goal of raising $50,000 on the same day.  By April 11, the project had reached 500% of its original goal and at that point the company announced the following 3 stretch goals:

  1. $275,000 – Extra VAT with $49 value for backers with printer option
  2. $300,000 – Extra bottle of resin with $69 value for backers with printer option
  3. $400,000 – Extra build platform with $79 value for backers with printer option

Since Uniz exceeded all of these stretch goals, every backer with a printer option will get these additional items in their printer bundle.

Uniz is a technology startup that was founded in February 2014 by a group of entrepreneurs and engineers that specialize in the development of high performance 3D printing products.  Their office is located at 9400 Activity Rd Ste L, San Diego, CA 92126.
